Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andrzej Rostowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rostowski comes to the ring accompanied by VITER - Marichka. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrzej Rostowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alex Bailey!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rostowski.
Rostowski takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Bailey throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
We've been hearing reports that Rostowski has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
A nice combination there by Bailey.
A head kick from Bailey lands but Rostowski takes it in his stride.

Bailey changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Rostowski is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Bailey tries to control but Rostowski wriggling away.
Rostowski wants to hold on but Bailey pushes him away.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Bailey is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rostowski can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rostowski bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bailey's guard.

Alex Bailey dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Rostowski shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bailey tries a quick counter leg kick but Rostowski is wise to it.
Bailey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rostowski was well out of range. Poor timing from Bailey.

so Rostowski counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rostowski connects with a nice short shot to Bailey's temple.

Rostowski seems to be looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rostowski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rostowski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bailey gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rostowski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rostowski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bailey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bailey manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andrzej Rostowski.
I think Bailey has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
