Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zackary Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georg Steffensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zackary Nixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Georg Steffensen!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steffensen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Nixon wants to control but Steffensen passes easily into half guard.
Steffensen throws a strike but Nixon avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Steffensen advances position into side control!
You can see the frustration on Nixon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Steffensen working the strikes but Nixon uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nixon won't allow Steffensen to pass to mount.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Steffensen in particular looking to stall.
Steffensen prevents Nixon from improving his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Steffensen is looking to take a break and control but Nixon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nixon has his hands clasped together around Steffensen's back. He's all about the action.
Still in half guard, Steffensen seems content to control.
Nixon manages to get to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nixon tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Steffensen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nixon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Steffensen has managed to get both his arms back between Nixon's legs - danger averted.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Steffensen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Steffensen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Steffensen gets a clinch.

Nixon is trying to break free.

Steffensen jumps guard.
Nixon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Steffensen keeping moving, preventing Nixon from controlling successfully.
Nixon stopping the sweep attempt from Steffensen.
Steffensen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nixon manages to get himself to full guard.

Nixon throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Steffensen trying to control the position from guard on top but Nixon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Steffensen forces his way into half guard.
Steffensen misses with a head shot. Nixon uses the momentum to regain guard.
Steffensen wants to control from the top but Nixon keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nixon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Georg Steffensen dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Steffensen closes the distance and clinches.
Nixon working hard to break the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Steffensen.


It looks like Zackary Nixon has been cut.
Nixon wants to stall.

Steffensen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Steffensen drives through with a takedown into guard.
Nixon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Steffensen with a flurry of punches that miss.
Nixon throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Steffensen stands and steps away. Nixon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Nixon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nixon tries to clinch but Steffensen moves out of range.

Nixon moves into range and clinches up with Steffensen.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Steffensen has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nixon regains guard immediately.
Steffensen wants to control from the top but Nixon keeps moving.

Steffensen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nixon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Steffensen has managed to get both his arms back between Nixon's legs - danger averted.
Nixon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steffensen controls the pace.
Steffensen wants to stand but Nixon is controlling his posture from full guard.

Steffensen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Nixon is trying to hold Steffensen in close to prevent damage but Steffensen has managed to pass into half guard.
Nixon is staying active underneath Steffensen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Nixon is looking to control Steffensen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nixon avoid being mounted?
Nixon lands with a few short shots to the body.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nixon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nixon enables Steffensen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nixon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Steffensen is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Nixon wants to stand up but Steffensen is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Georg Steffensen has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Steffensen won't allow Nixon to sweep him here.
Steffensen sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Nixon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Steffensen's guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Nixon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Georg Steffensen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Steffensen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nixon did well to prevent Steffensen getting side control.
Nixon tries to roll over but Steffensen keeps him under control.

Steffensen postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Nixon to stand up.
Steffensen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Steffensen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Steffensen lands in his opponent's guard.
Nixon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Nixon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Steffensen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Nixon wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Steffensen manages to pass to side control.
Steffensen is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Nixon tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Steffensen has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Steffensen throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Steffensen manages to capitalize on a mistake by Nixon to take his back!

Nixon prevents Steffensen from getting a body triangle.

Nixon is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Nixon just trying to survive but Steffensen is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Steffensen misses with a punch to the head.
Steffensen controlling from the back.
Nixon is in bad spot here.

Steffensen has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
I really don't envy Nixon right now.

Nixon turns into Steffensen and is now in his guard.
Nixon with a nice head shot there.
Steffensen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nixon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Steffensen is looking for a triangle here but Nixon uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Steffensen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Steffensen is not content to let Nixon control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Georg Steffensen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Steffensen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
