The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuire defending well as Mifune loads up on a big left hand.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by McGuire.
McGuire's corner calls for a 1-2. McGuire obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

McGuire has been working on his boxing with his coaches at River's Edge Gym, DOW in the buildup to the fight.
Tatsuya Mifune seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mifune throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McGuire sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mifune scores with the left hand. McGuire knows he should have avoided that one.
Mifune throws the left hand but McGuire avoids the punch easily.
McGuire works the jab nicely.
Mifune tries to clinch up but McGuire circles away and keeps his distance.
Mifune blocks the body kick.
Mifune tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
McGuire shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
McGuire lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Mifune thuds his right hand into McGuire's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
McGuire closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Mifune comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
McGuire slips a jab from Mifune.

McGuire tries to counter by clinching up but Mifune breaks away and moves out of range.
Mifune swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mifune scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McGuire doesn't seem bothered though.

McGuire lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Mifune is looking to clinch but McGuire is avoiding it.
A slapping leg kick lands for McGuire.
Mifune throws out a loose jab but McGuire uses good head movement to avoid it.
McGuire blocks a jab.
McGuire wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
McGuire smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

McGuire drives through with a takedown into Mifune's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Mifune is rocked!
McGuire is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Mifune is still in real trouble! Can McGuire finish him?
McGuire postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
McGuire loads up on a big left hand. Mifune felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - McGuire looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Mifune can't hide his disappointment, as McGuire celebrates the victory.
