Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edison Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladmir Chekov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Edison Todd has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Edison Todd seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chekov pushes Todd away with a front kick.
Chekov tries a head kick but it misses.

Todd tries to sprawl but Chekov drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Chekov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Todd is refusing to be controlled, as Chekov sits in half guard.

Todd is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chekov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Todd is trying to maintain the position but Chekov is very close to passing his half guard.

Chekov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Todd knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Chekov not landing any meaningful shots this time.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chekov connects with a nice short shot to Todd's temple.

Chekov looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Todd covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
