The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fann misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Machado misses with a wild combination.
Machado sets himself, and Fann steps forward looking for the clinch! Machado avoids it this time.

Machado has Fann up against the cage in a clinch.
Fann jumps guard but Machado stands there with Fann around his waist. Fann gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Machado tries for a takedown but Fann manages to get underhooks.

Machado has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Fann is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Machado seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fann for as long as he can get away with.

Machado is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fann is just riding it out for now. Machado eventually gives up the hold.

We've been informed that Fann has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
