The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
boy takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McCarthy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
boy's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

McCarthy wants to finish this one by submission but boy is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from McCarthy.

BOOM! McCarthy connects with a massive shot to the dome!

boy reaches up to try and control the position but McCarthy seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! boy rolls and tries to escape and now McCarthy has his back!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - McCarthy's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
boy is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, McCarthy asserts his dominance and retains side control.
boy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McCarthy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
boy pushes McCarthy away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McCarthy gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
