Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rikki Robertson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzalez's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Inside the Fire. Rikki Robertson struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Felipe Gonzalez had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Gonzalez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rikki Robertson!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robertson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Robertson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Felipe Gonzalez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gonzalez throws a leg kick but Robertson sees it coming and moves out of range.
Gonzalez lands a lovely overhand right.

Robertson darts in and clinches Gonzalez up against the cage.
Gonzalez creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Robertson's defenses.


It looks like Rikki Robertson has been cut.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Gonzalez lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Gonzalez fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Gonzalez misses with a punch on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gonzalez tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Robertson jumps guard.
Robertson has Gonzalez pulled in close to control his posture.

Robertson looking for a guillotine here but Gonzalez defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Robertson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gonzalez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gonzalez is pushing down on Robertson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Robertson is fighting to maintain full guard but Gonzalez has managed to sneak the leg through.
Well, if Gonzalez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Gonzalez missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Gonzalez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Robertson's head.

Robertson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Gonzalez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Robertson tries to roll over but Gonzalez keeps him under control.
Gonzalez is pressing down on Robertson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Robertson is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gonzalez in particular looking to stall.
Robertson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Gonzalez wants to control from the top but Robertson keeps moving.

Robertson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gonzalez is aware though and is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Robertson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Gonzalez is now in half guard.
Gonzalez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Robertson on the ground.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Robertson actively working from the bottom here.
Robertson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gonzalez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Robertson looking for submissions off his back.
Gonzalez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Robertson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gonzalez is working away from the top position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Gonzalez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Robertson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gonzalez.
Gonzalez trying to control from half guard but Robertson is working away.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Robertson moves out of range as Gonzalez strikes.
Gonzalez sets himself, and Robertson steps forward looking for the clinch! Gonzalez avoids it this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Robertson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gonzalez.
Gonzalez throws a jab but it's blocked by Robertson.
Robertson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Gonzalez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Robertson. That did some damage!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Felipe Gonzalez dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rikki Robertson's cut.
That's time! Gonzalez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Robertson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Robertson takes a kick to the side of the head.
Gonzalez wants to clinch up but Robertson keeps it at a distance.
Gonzalez misses the jab.
Gonzalez throws a low kick, looking for Robertson's leg but Robertson calmly moves out of range.
And Robertson tries to counter it with a takedown but Gonzalez pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Gonzalez listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


Robertson is rocked!

Gonzalez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Robertson is still on wobbly legs! Can Gonzalez finish him?
Gonzalez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Robertson can do to turn this around?
A nice glancing elbow lands by Gonzalez.
Gonzalez lands a knee to the head.
Gonzalez lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Robertson to his knees! Gonzalez keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Felipe Gonzalez!
Felipe Gonzalez decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
