The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Richards is predictable there
and Brooks counters with a straight right hand.
Brooks lands with a straight right. Richards didn't see that one coming.
Randy Richards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Richards throws a leg kick
and Brooks counters with a straight right hand.
The fighters circle momentarily. Brooks darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Richards throws a leg kick but Brooks moved away.
Richards takes a kick to the side of the head.
Brooks bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Richards's head backwards.

Brooks lunges at Richards with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Richards's hand.
Richards is still on wobbly legs! Can Brooks finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A head kick by Brooks - that's a beauty! Richards is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Brooks can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

In his post fight interview, Eric Brooks started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
