The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jermaine sprawls well. Jermaine wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Santos gets slowly back to his feet.
Santos throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Jermaine counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Santos is looking to improve his position.
Jermaine tries to pass to full mount but Santos defends it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jermaine looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Let's hope that Jermaine has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Santos misses with an attempted mid kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Santos looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jermaine is sitting in close to Santos's body. Santos has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Jermaine is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Jermaine is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Santos.

Thiago Santos spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
