PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Ajer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rogan Redban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bryan Ajer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rogan Redban!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Redban shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Redban was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Redban stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Ajer misses with a takedown attempt - Redban sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ajer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Redban but Redban pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ajer takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

and Redban counters with a three punch combo that has Ajer backing up. Ajer nods at Redban to acknowledge the strikes.
Bryan Ajer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Redban gets to his feet. Ajer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Ajer closes the distance and clinches.
Redban wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ajer has him pressed against the cage.

Ajer has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Redban drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Redban jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ajer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Redban on the ground.
Redban keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ajer's head.
Redban is looking to work some ground and pound but Ajer has wrist control.
Ajer is looking to stand up but Redban isn't so interested in that idea.
Redban stays in close to Ajer's body and controls the position.

Redban is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ajer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ajer has escaped and now he's on top!

Ajer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Redban has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ajer has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Redban has picked Ajer up - he's going for a ride! Redban dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Redban seems to be looking for submissions.
Redban thows a huge punch but Ajer dodges it nicely.

Redban wants to work for an arm triangle but Ajer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Redban shoots in looking for a takedown but Ajer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Redban's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Redban tightens his grip and picks Ajer up, before dumping him to the ground. Ajer manages to land in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rogan Redban showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ajer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ajer tries to get out of the position.
Redban is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ajer is working an open guard so Redban takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Redban shoots in for a takedown but Ajer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bryan Ajer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rogan Redban.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ajer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Redban swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Redban scores with a one two! Ajer had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Rogan Redban is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Redban! But no joy.

Rogan Redban comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Redban winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
