PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Justin Sane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hokey Pokey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sane comes into the arena with Many Men by 50 Cent blaring out of the sound system. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sane shoots for a double leg takedown but Pokey sprawls well. He's pushed Sane's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've been told by Sane's head coaches at Kombat MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Sane shoots in and drives through. Pokey sprawls well.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Sane tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pokey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sane somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Justin Sane. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sane closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pokey circles away.

Pokey throws a head kick that Sane semi-blocks.
Sane looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pokey is fending him off so far but Sane persists. Nope, Pokey circles away and we're back to standing.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pokey.

Pokey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pokey wants it to stay on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pokey leaves Sane with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sane throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pokey's waist but Pokey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sane off to one side.
Pokey is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sane is breathing heavily.
Pokey goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Pokey lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
No luck for Sane with that takedown attempt.

Pokey lands a jab to the head.
Sane tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pokey defends well and Sane ends up having to push Pokey into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Pokey connects with a leg kick. Sane looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sane attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Whack! Pokey lands a heavy head kick that drops Sane. The ref tackles Pokey to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Sane was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Hokey Pokey!
Hokey Pokey really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Sportsmanship Ltd. logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
