Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Conrad Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Garcia.
Garcia misses with a shot to the body
enabling Booth to counter with a crisp jab.
Booth takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Conrad Booth has been cut.

Garcia pushes Booth up against the cage in a clinch.

Booth has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Garcia uses from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Booth wants to sweep here but Garcia controlling him for the moment.

Garcia is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Booth could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Garcia stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Booth takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Garcia throws a combination. Booth tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Booth is breathing heavily.

Garcia drives through with a takedown into guard.

Garcia throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Booth works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Garcia is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Garcia is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Garcia shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Booth manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Garcia gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Garcia closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Booth quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Garcia is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Booth sees it coming and defends easily.

Still in half guard, Garcia seems content to control.

Garcia swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Booth is now in Garcia's guard. A big mistake from Garcia there, giving up the dominant position!
Booth has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Garcia is proving hard to escape from.

Booth stands up and waves to Garcia to follow him.

Garcia has managed to clinch.

Julio Garcia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Garcia tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Garcia has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Booth tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Garcia manages to circle out of the way.

Garcia shoots in and bounces Booth off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Garcia is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Booth working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Garcia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Garcia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Garcia slaps away a takedown attempt from Booth, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Julio Garcia seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Booth shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Garcia as he avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Booth or perhaps it was just good defense by Garcia, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Conrad Booth. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Garcia manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Booth on his heels. He'll look to pass Booth's guard now, I'm sure.

Well Garcia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
