The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eberle throws a head kick that misses.
Perry takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Perry gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Perry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Eberle moves away.
Eberle throws a counter combo.
Eberle throws a head kick but Perry moves out of range.
Perry tries to clinch but Eberle moves out of range.

Perry drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Eberle defending against the ground and pound.

Perry tries for a kimura but Eberle is defending well.
Perry controlling the position from side mount.

Eberle is trying to get back to half guard.
Perry throws an elbow but Eberle slips to the side and avoids it well.
Eberle tries to improve position but can't.
Eberle seems a little lost for a moment, as Perry dominates the positioning.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Perry stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Eberle.

Perry decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Perry is trying to control. Eberle wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Perry is keen to just control but Eberle is a slippery customer.

It looks like Brent Perry has been cut.
Eberle's coach down at Extreme MMA (7 Elites $250/week) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Eberle's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Eberle throws a sloppy head kick and Perry moves out of range easily.

Eberle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Eberle throws a head kick that misses.
Eberle scores with a head kick. Perry tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Eberle pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Perry was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Eberle looks winded!
Eberle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Perry.

Perry gets a double leg takedown into Eberle's guard.
Perry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Eberle has momentary wrist control but Perry slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Perry shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Eberle is trying to defend but Perry finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Eberle quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Perry has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Eberle celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
