Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thanh Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karsten Feigel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thanh Hunt has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thanh Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Karsten Feigel!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt takes a swing at Feigel's ribcage but misses.
Hunt lands a head kick!
Feigel tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hunt is able to avoid easily.

Feigel gets tackled into the cage by Hunt. Hunt maintains the clinch.
Feigel scores with a knee to the head.


It looks like Thanh Hunt has been cut.

Feigel manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Feigel thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Hunt content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Feigel is looking to stand up but Hunt isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hunt drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Feigel manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hunt has Feigel in his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hunt is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Feigel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hunt misses with a head kick.

Feigel scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Feigel is looking to take a break and control but Hunt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Feigel stands up and beckons Hunt to join him on the feet.

Feigel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hunt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.

Feigel wants to stand and escape but Hunt is having none of it.
Hunt controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Feigel controls Hunt momentarily but Hunt frees himself.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hunt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hunt lands a couple of elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karsten Feigel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Feigel lands with a nice body punch.

Feigel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hunt was covering up waiting for the punch and Feigel finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Feigel wants to control from the top but Hunt keeps moving.
Feigel might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hunt haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunt can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Feigel controls the pace.

Hunt has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Feigel is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Feigel keeps control of Hunt as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Feigel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Feigel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Feigel thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Feigel has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hunt has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Feigel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
