Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ciprian Mukesha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alejandro Ovalle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alejandro Ovalle is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ciprian Mukesha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alejandro Ovalle!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mukesha shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ovalle's guard.
Ovalle looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Mukesha stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ovalle swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ovalle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mukesha trying to control but Ovalle is working from the bottom.
Ovalle being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mukesha's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Mukesha stands and throws Ovalle's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mukesha working the ground and pound.
Ovalle takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Mukesha is looking to take a break and control but Ovalle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mukesha controlling the position.
Mukesha tries to stand but Ovalle is controlling his head.
Mukesha scores with punches from side control.
Mukesha trying to control the position but Ovalle is working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ovalle is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mukesha off and has taken his back!
Mukesha looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ciprian Mukesha just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Ovalle shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Mukesha counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.


Ovalle is rocked!

Mukesha drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Mukesha seems to have locked his on tight now - Ovalle screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Mukesha, as he picks up the win!
