Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bran Simonides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyf Kgg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bran Simonides could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tyf Kgg's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bran Simonides!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tyf Kgg!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kgg enables Simonides to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kgg manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kgg wants to sweep but no luck.
Simonides working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Kgg lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Kgg looking to hit a scissor sweep but Simonides is one step ahead there.
Simonides is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kgg is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Simonides passes Kgg's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Simonides is nestled in close to Kgg, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kgg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simonides. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kgg can do anything to dispel that myth.

Simonides is working for a kimura but Kgg is defending it quite comfortably.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kgg has eaten all the pies!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Simonides gets caught flat footed, as Kgg shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Simonides lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Simonides won't allow Kgg to sweep him here.
Kgg is still trying to improve position.
Simonides seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kgg is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Kgg throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bran Simonides dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Simonides fails to land with a series of punches.

Kgg throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Simonides was covering up waiting for the punch and Kgg finishes the takedown easily into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Simonides is on top in guard.

Simonides wants to get up but he can't break Kgg's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Kgg seems keen to control Simonides's posture.
Simonides wants to control from the top but Kgg keeps moving.
Kgg can't keep his opponent in guard - Simonides advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kgg is trying to maintain the position but Simonides is very close to passing his half guard.
Kgg looks like he's trying to stand up.
Bran Simonides overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Simonides seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kgg does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kgg manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Simonides keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Kgg manages to break the clinch.
Simonides fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kgg stuffs the takedown attempt from Simonides. Simonides gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kgg shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Simonides napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Kgg tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kgg has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kgg wants to lay and pray for a moment but Simonides keeps working.
Simonides is pushing Kgg's head away, looking to escape. Kgg manages to hold on to the position though.

Simonides is looking to reverse the position.
Kgg taking a breather here.
Simonides is looking to regain half guard here but Kgg keeps moving and retains side control.
Kgg tries to advance to mount but Simonides denies him.

Kgg tries to stand but Simonides is controlling his head.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kgg drives through with a takedown into Simonides's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Tyf Kgg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kgg is trying to trip Simonides. He has hold of a leg but Simonides is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kgg persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Kgg is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kgg wants to control from the top but Simonides keeps moving.
