The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato wants to clinch.

Sato rushes Jin Hee and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Sato breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jin Hee dodges the punch combination from Sato.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sato throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jin Hee slips a jab from Sato.
Jin Hee throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sato tries to clinch up but Jin Hee circles away and keeps his distance.
Jin Hee keeps the fight on the outside.
Jin Hee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sato sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jin Hee somewhat.

Sato shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Jin Hee is staying active underneath Sato, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sato is looking for a kimura but Jin Hee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sato to get the leverage.

Jin Hee is not content to let Sato control the position.

Sato is taking a breather. Jin Hee says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Sato is stalling here. Jin Hee is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Sato seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jin Hee has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Jin Hee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sato is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jin Hee asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Sato can't do much from the bottom here.

Sato is looking to reverse the position.

Sato wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Jin Hee has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Sato's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Sato is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Jin Hee!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Hi Jin Hee!
In his post fight interview, Hi Jin Hee started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Hideo Sato was interviewed post fight and said 'I apologize to my family and fans for letting you down this evening. But like a true warrior I look at this loss as a way to get better and drive forwards..... to victory!'.
