Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Greco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Leidner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owen Leidner is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roman Greco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Owen Leidner!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leidner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Greco was covering up waiting for the punch and Leidner finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Leidner slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Leidner decides to stand back up.

and Greco counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Leidner wants to get back to his feet.
Leidner moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Greco throwing strikes but missing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Leidner is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Greco keeping moving, preventing Leidner from controlling successfully.
Greco is trying to keep Leidner in close.
Greco might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Leidner showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Leidner sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Greco's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Greco wants to control but Leidner is keeping busy.
Leidner throwing shots but Greco is blocking nicely.
Leidner wants to take a breather but Greco is having none of it.
Greco is looking to control Leidner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Greco avoid being mounted?
Leidner seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Greco could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Leidner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Greco paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A quick step to the side and Greco tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Greco swats away the attempt to clinch by Leidner.
Leidner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Greco pinned against the cage. Greco gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Greco changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Leidner looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Greco appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Roman Greco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Owen Leidner.
Greco defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Leidner.
Greco appears to be looking for a big counter.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Leidner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Greco paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Greco is looking to counter punch.
Greco swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Leidner lands a right hook to the body.
Leidner connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Owen Leidner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leidner dives in and grabs Greco's left leg, looking for a takedown. Greco pushes down on Leidner's head and hops out.

Leidner closes the distance and pushes Greco back into the cage.
Leidner wants a takedown.
Leidner is trying to maintain a safe position but Greco gets an underhook and turns Leidner into the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Leidner is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Greco pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Leidner looks winded!
Leidner is trying to drag Greco to the mat but Greco just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Greco tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Leidner just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owen Leidner dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Greco takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Greco feints and as Leidner raises his hands in defense, Greco changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Leidner has his feet on Greco's thighs here. He's pushed Greco off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Greco screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Owen Leidner!
