PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cory Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bubba Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by DJ Shadow - Organ Donor. Walker has chosen What You Know as his entrance music. Bubba Walker looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Walker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Walker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jones did well to prevent Walker getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Walker defends it easily.
Jones wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.
Jones wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Walker drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Walker has Jones in his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Jones is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Jones decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Walker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Walker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Walker looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Jones!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Walker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Jones manages to work his way to half guard, despite Walker's best efforts.

Walker is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily.

Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Walker rolls with it to try and escape but Jones cranks on the arm and Walker is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

A relieved looking Cory Jones thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
