And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brian King!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

King decides to stand up, so the ref orders Quarry to his feet.
King fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Quarry appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

King takes the fight into the clinch.

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
King misses with the combination.

King fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Quarry, pushing him back against the cage.

King breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
King misses with a two punch combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

King gets a clinch.
Quarry tries to pull guard but King holds him up against the cage and eventually Quarry drops back down to his feet.
Quarry fails to pull the fight into his guard.

King is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Quarry showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from King.
King misses with a few strikes there.
No joy there for King, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Quarry jumps guard but King stands there with Quarry around his waist. Quarry gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Quarry. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Quarry fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
King lands a damaging elbow.

King lands a left and a right that sends Quarry crashing to the canvas! King dives into mount looking to finish!


Quarry is rocked!

King can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Quarry is looking to escape.
Oh Quarry is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Quarry is trying to escape the mount.
Quarry seems to have got his legs back now.

King is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Brian King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

King misses with a jab, cross combination.

King drives through with a takedown into guard.

King decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Quarry, up you get!

King rushes Quarry and presses him up against the cage.

King breaks the clinch.

King stands up and we're back to a striking position.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

King's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

King closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

King decides to stand up.
Some wild striking there from King.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
King is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Quarry hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
