Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Gotwalt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gasan Umalatov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Umalatov is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Don Omar - Danza Kuduro ft. Lucenzo. Gasan Umalatov will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gasan Umalatov!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Umalatov tests Gotwalt's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Jeff Gotwalt has been cut.
Gotwalt goes for a double leg but Umalatov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Umalatov continues to drive forward.

Gotwalt feints and as Umalatov raises his hands in defense, Gotwalt changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gotwalt slips nicely into half guard.
Umalatov wants to control but Gotwalt is keeping busy.
Umalatov won't allow Gotwalt to pass to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gotwalt is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Umalatov sees it coming and defends easily.
Umalatov tries to get to full guard but Gotwalt has control of the leg.

Gotwalt definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
