Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between David Salzar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bil Nye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nye has chosen LINE as his entrance music. Bil Nye will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Salzar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bil Nye!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salzar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nye looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Salzar throws a body kick that misses.
Nye takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Salzar is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nye sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nye stuffs the takedown attempt from Salzar. Salzar gets slowly back to his feet.
Nye looks for a takedown but Salzar sprawls well.
Salzar leaves Nye with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Salzar wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown attempt by Salzar or perhaps it was just good defense by Nye, which made it look bad.

Nye shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Salzar but Salzar pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Salzar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nye sprawls well. Nye wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Salzar gets slowly back to his feet.

Salzar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nye swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Salzar swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Bil Nye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Salzar with that takedown attempt.
Nye tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Some wild striking there from Salzar.

We've been informed that Nye has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Nye blocks a head kick by Salzar.
Salzar shoots in but no luck this time.
Nye is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

and Nye counters with a nice double leg into side control. Salzar won't be happy with that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Salzar can't do much from the bottom here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Nye is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Salzar has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Salzar is trying to control Nye's posture but Nye avoids it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Salzar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nye wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Salzar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Salzar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nye is fending him off so far but Salzar persists. Nope, Nye circles away and we're back to standing.

Salzar is looking to take a break and control but Nye is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Salzar is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nye sees it coming and defends easily.
Nye is staying active underneath Salzar, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Salzar tries to pass to full mount but Nye defends it.
Nye is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nye is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Salzar throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Salzar tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Salzar looking for a sweep. Not yet Salzar, not yet.

Salzar is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Nye frees his head nicely. Oh but Salzar has switched to an armbar! Nye is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
