PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cesc Fabregas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fabregas's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, We Fly High. Dixon comes into a darkened arena with his song building. It's A Fight by Three 6 Mafia kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Mason Dixon will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fabregas misses with a takedown attempt - Dixon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dixon sneaks out the side door and pushes Fabregas away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dixon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Fabregas had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Dixon is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Fabregas Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Dixon's back instead.

Fabregas looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Well Dixon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
