Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tony Russell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Jack is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Jack!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jack shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Russell manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Russell wants to sweep here but Jack controlling him for the moment.

Russell is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Russell looking for a guillotine here but Jack defends easily.
Jack must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jack is working Russell over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jack looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Jack slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
You can see the frustration on Russell 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Russell is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jack is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jack is working Russell over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Jack scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Russell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jack passes Russell 's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Russell is refusing to be controlled, as Jack sits in half guard.

Jack content to control rather than advance.

Russell is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jack pulls his head out easily.
Jack is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Jack seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Russell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jack working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jack accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
