Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maki Yagami!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, marucio machida!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
machida misses with a kick to the body.
Yagami looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Yagami looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? machida is fending him off so far but Yagami persists. Nope, machida circles away and we're back to standing.
machida stuffs the takedown attempt from Yagami. Yagami gets slowly back to his feet.

machida controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
machida advances to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
machida performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
machida lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
machida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yagami. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
machida perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. machida connects with a nice short shot to Yagami's temple.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
machida uses his free foot to push down on Yagami's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Yagami.

machida's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, machida cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Yagami is rocked!
machida lands with some strikes.
Oh Yagami is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

machida cracks Yagami with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

machida fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Despite being in the dominant position, marucio machida just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
machida closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Yagami! machida dives in looking to finish! Yagami is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). marucio machida!
