Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin OPossum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre Walter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kevin OPossum!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walter clinches with his opponent.
OPossum lands a body shot in the clinch.

OPossum pulls guard.
Walter is looking to work some ground and pound but OPossum has wrist control.
Walter throwing strikes but missing.

OPossum working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Walter.
Walter throws an elbow that misses. OPossum uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Walter's guard. Nice move by OPossum!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

OPossum with a flurry of punches that miss.
OPossum slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Walter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
OPossum trying to control but Walter is working from the bottom.
Walter trying to keep a closed guard but OPossum is proving a slippery customer.
Walter can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as OPossum controls the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Walter is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Walter feints and as OPossum raises his hands in defense, Walter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
OPossum pulls Walter in to control the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Walter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
OPossum avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

OPossum working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Walter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Walter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Walter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Walter is fighting to break OPossum's control of his arms but OPossum is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
OPossum's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from OPossum.

Walter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

OPossum is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Walter looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
OPossum manages to get back to half guard.
Walter thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's time! Walter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


OPossum avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
OPossum lands a jab to Walter's midsection.
OPossum shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Walter defends it nicely.

OPossum fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Walter sprawls well initially but OPossum persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

OPossum seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Walter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

OPossum fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Walter, pushing him back against the cage.
Walter fails to pull the fight into his guard.

OPossum escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

OPossum is working an open guard so Walter takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
OPossum tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Walter defends well and OPossum ends up having to push Walter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Walter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Walter wants it to stay on the feet.

Walter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Walter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
OPossum throws a right and a left that Walter avoids nicely.
It appears Walter was looking to counter with a kick there.

Kevin OPossum showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pierre Walter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
OPossum is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Walter swats away the attempt to clinch by OPossum.
Walter went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Kevin OPossum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
