The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentinovich lands a leg kick that knocks Cricket off balance momentarily.
Cricket throws a front kick that sends Valentinovich stumbling back into the cage.
A slapping leg kick lands for Cricket.
Cricket sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Good standup being displayed there by Valentinovich as he connects with a hook.
Cricket checks a leg kick.
Cricket keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Valentinovich.
Cricket has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Ultimate MMA Training Center in the buildup to the fight.
Valentinovich lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Cricket pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Valentinovich throws the left hand but Cricket avoids the punch easily.
Valentinovich misses with a lunging right hand
and Cricket connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Valentinovich takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Valentinovich swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Valentinovich moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Valentinovich ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Cricket lands with an uppercut that bounces Valentinovich off the cage and back into range.
Cricket swings for the body but Valentinovich moves out of range.

and Cricket counters with a three punch combo that has Valentinovich backing up. Valentinovich nods at Cricket to acknowledge the strikes.

Valentinovich's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Valentinovich duly obliges.
Cricket ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Valentinovich moves away.
Cricket will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A nice side step and Valentinovich releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Valentinovich fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cricket.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cricket fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Valentinovich has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

A looping hook to the body misses from Valentinovich. Cricket does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cricket swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A big left from Cricket misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Valentinovich! But no joy.

Cricket needs to keep his hands up - Valentinovich had a free shot at his head there.

and Cricket counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Valentinovich wants to slow Cricket down by chopping away at his legs.
Valentinovich connects with a looping right hand.

and Valentinovich counters with a thumping low kick.

Valentinovich punishes Cricket's body with a nice straight punch.
Valentinovich moves out of range as Cricket throws a body kick.
Valentinovich lands a glancing blow to the side of Cricket's head.
Cricket misses with a body shot.
Cricket throws a wild body kick that Valentinovich sees coming a mile off.
Valentinovich doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Valentinovich drops Cricket with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Cricket looks back up at him and smiles so Valentinovich waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Cricket is rocked!

Valentinovich drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Cricket's head, knocking him out cold! Valentinovich is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
