Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masters comes into a darkened arena with his song building. hall of fame kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keith Masters!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Topper Green and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Masters looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Jackson!
I wouldn't like to be where Jackson is right now.
Jackson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet.
You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Masters wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jackson, who protects the arm well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Jackson is trying to buck Masters off.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Masters thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jackson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Masters shoots in and gets a takedown into Jackson's guard.

Jackson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Masters defends well.
Jackson is looking to stand up but Masters isn't so interested in that idea.

Jackson has his foot on Masters's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Masters works his way back into a safe position though.

Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Masters is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jackson gets a double leg takedown into Masters's guard.
Jackson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Masters preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Jackson gets tackled into the cage by Masters. Masters maintains the clinch.

That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Masters fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Masters persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jackson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jackson manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Masters shoots in and bounces Jackson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Masters avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Masters in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Keith Masters has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jackson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Masters postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Masters can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Masters has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jackson is proving hard to escape from.

Jackson is looking for a triangle but Masters pushes his legs off easily.

Jackson has an active guard here but Masters has managed to pass into half guard.

Jackson looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Masters closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Masters is breathing heavily.

Masters tries to stand and escape but Jackson actually recovers to full guard.

Masters throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Jackson pulls Masters in close to prevent any damage.
Jackson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Masters manages to get himself to full guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Masters is on top in guard.

Keith Masters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Jackson gets tackled into the cage by Masters. Masters maintains the clinch.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Masters throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jackson.

Masters forces Jackson back against the cage and clinches.

Jackson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Masters shoots in and bounces Jackson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson is really struggling to control Masters but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Masters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jackson holds on and takes a little breather.
Jackson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jackson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Masters is stalling in the full guard.
Masters trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jackson has Masters pulled in close to control his posture.

Masters decides to stand back up. Masters steps back and let's Jackson get back to his feet.

Masters leaves Jackson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jackson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Keith Masters is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Masters moves into the clinch successfully.
Jackson misses with a body punch.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Masters keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Masters decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jackson looks like he's trying to stand up.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Masters doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Masters manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Keith Masters comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Masters has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
