The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez lands a jab to the head.
Cortez dives in for a single leg takedown but Sobiesky sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Cortez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sobiesky.
Cortez seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Cortez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sobiesky.

Cortez lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

We've been hearing good reports from Cortez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Cortez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cortez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
