PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dean Corll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karol Tarczynski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corll's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, South Texas Death Ride. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Corll!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Karol Tarczynski!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tarczynski connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Nice body kick there by Corll.
Tarczynski uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Corll.
Tarczynski throws a push kick but Corll slaps the foot to one side.
Corll changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Corll has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Corll has been working on his boxing with his coaches at House of 1000 Corpses in the buildup to the fight.
Corll looks for the body kick but Tarczynski saw that one coming.
Corll connects with a nice looking jab.


It looks like Karol Tarczynski has been cut.
A low kick from Corll is predictable there
and Tarczynski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tarczynski throws a lazy right hand but Corll sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Tarczynski tries to clinch up but Corll circles away and keeps his distance.
Tarczynski tries a head kick but it misses.
Corll lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Tarczynski at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tarczynski throws a hook to the side of Corll's head but Corll sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Corll counters with a thumping low kick.

Tarczynski looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
A lazy left from Corll finds it's target.
Tarczynski jabs Corll to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Corll throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Tarczynski counters with a nice leg kick.

Corll plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Corll bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Tarczynski's head backwards.
Tarczynski keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tarczynski connects with an inside leg kick.
Tarczynski bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Corll feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Corll accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Corll slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Tarczynski slaps away a takedown attempt from Corll, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tarczynski avoids a kick to the body.
Tarczynski throws a quick inside leg kick.
Corll moves into range and connects with a jab.
Tarczynski tries to move into range but Corll moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Tarczynski takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A solid leg kick lands there for Tarczynski.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Tarczynski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Corll is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tarczynski can do to turn this around?

Corll looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tarczynski is fending him off so far but Corll persists. Nope, Tarczynski circles away and we're back to standing.

Corll was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

and Tarczynski counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Corll walks into a stiff left hand from Tarczynski.
Corll lands with a nice body punch.

Karol Tarczynski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Tarczynski counters with a nice body shot.
Corll scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Tarczynski doesn't seem bothered though.

Corll darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Corll dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tarczynski. That did some damage!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Corll throws out a loose jab but Tarczynski uses good head movement to avoid it.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tarczynski! But no joy.

Tarczynski pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
A quick step to the side and Corll tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Tarczynski gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Tarczynski buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Tarczynski slips a straight right by Corll.

Tarczynski gets caught flat footed, as Corll shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Tarczynski checks a leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dean Corll will probably get the nod.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Corll on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Corll scores with a jab. Tarczynski acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Corll moves forwards but Tarczynski connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Corll throws the kick towards the body but Tarczynski avoids it.
Tarczynski lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A looping hook to the body misses from Tarczynski. Corll does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tarczynski takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A nice inside leg kick there by Tarczynski. That's going to slow Corll down.

Corll lands a nice hook to Tarczynski's body. Tarczynski takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Tarczynski looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Tarczynski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Corll circles away quickly and effectively.

Tarczynski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Corll moves away.

Tarczynski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tarczynski on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Corll shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Corll throws a body punch but Tarczynski moves out of range.
Tarczynski throws a big counter head kick but Corll avoids it with no problem.
Tarczynski swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Corll feinted with a counter takedown.

Tarczynski lands a leg kick that knocks Corll off balance momentarily.

Tarczynski chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Corll can pounce on him.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dean Corll.
Well Corll has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
