PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ron Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaspar Hauser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Green kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Battle Royal. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ron Green!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kaspar Hauser!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hauser moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Green throws a head kick that misses.
Green's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hauser under the eye.
Green lands a jab to the head.
Green misses with a straight left.
Hauser tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hauser has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Green lands with a hook. Hauser tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Hauser moves out of range as Green strikes.
And Hauser tries to counter it with a takedown but Green pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Hauser keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Green.
Hauser tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Green loads up on a big right hand but Hauser slips the punch.
Hauser with the counter takedown but Green avoids it easily.
Hauser misses with a looping left.
A shot to the body from Hauser misses
and Hauser takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jab by Green.
Green looks to land a right hand but Hauser moved out of range.
Hauser with the counter takedown but Green avoids it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A decent looking cross lands there for Green.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hauser uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Green.
Hauser drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Green defends it well.
Jab by Green.
Green misses with a right hand

and Hauser counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Green!
Green tries to bench press Hauser off him but Hauser keeps the position.
Hauser is looking to take a break and control but Green is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hauser fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Hauser working the ground and pound but Green is defending the strikes.
Hauser trying to control the position but Green is working away.
Hauser tries to score with some ground and pound. Green controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hauser is trying to get an arm triangle but Green is defending well.
Hauser throws an elbow but Green slips to the side and avoids it well.
Green is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hauser has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hauser creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Green is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Hauser scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Green to see if he's OK.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
An elbow from Hauser crashes against the mat.
Hauser wants to lay and pray for a moment but Green keeps working.
Hauser tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Hauser is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Green is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hauser prevents Green from escaping the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hauser is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Green has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hauser is trying to move to mount but Green reverses beautifully and ends up in Hauser's guard.

Green has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Hauser to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Green is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Hauser pulls down on the head and he's put Green to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kaspar Hauser!
