Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ellis Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Garnet!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone is looking to clinch.
Garnet fails with the takedown.
Stone misses with a takedown

and Garnet counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Stone!
Garnet lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Garnet lands a big shot there that rocks Stone but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Garnet tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Garnet has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Stone parries the strikes from Garnet easily there. Garnet is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stone to escape.
Stone is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stone wants to clinch but Garnet slips to the side
and Garnet counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Garnet misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stone with a lazy takedown attempt

and Garnet counters with a single leg into guard. Stone didn't expect that.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Stone tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Garnet counters with a body kick that stops Stone in his tracks momentarily.
Garnet misses with a hook. Stone ducked under it nicely.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Stone swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Garnet misses the shot to the body.
Garnet circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stone tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Garnet counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Stone is trying to get back to full guard.
Garnet wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stone keeps working.
Garnet looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Garnet working over Stone with some ground and pound. Stone looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Garnet throws a strike but Stone avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Garnet dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Garnet will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Stone tries to clinch up but Garnet circles away and keeps his distance.

Stone regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Garnet.
Garnet lands a couple of elbows.

Garnet is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stone is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stone has escaped and now he's on top!
Garnet not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Garnet is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Josh Garnet has got the better of the ground game so far.
Garnet has a closed guard, preventing Stone from standing up.

Garnet looking for a guillotine here but Stone defends easily.
Stone trying to control but Garnet is working from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Stone stopping the sweep attempt from Garnet.
Garnet throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Stone slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Garnet counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stone's guard now.

Garnet postures up in Stone's guard and throws a big left but Stone blocks it.
Garnet slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Garnet sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Stone is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Garnet with the ground and pound but Stone regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Garnet wants to free his trapped foot but Stone is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Stone gets back to full guard.
Garnet trying to control but Stone is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stone has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Stone working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Garnet.
Garnet missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Garnet stopping the sweep attempt from Stone.
Stone bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Garnet's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Garnet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Garnet has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Stone's face.
Garnet postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Stone looks a forlorn figure.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Garnet postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Stone in real trouble here! The ref calls for Stone to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josh Garnet!
