Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and rafa henningsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). henningsen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. i get money kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! rafa henningsen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Marcus Drake's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Drake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. henningsen tries to avoid it but Drake manages to keep hold of a leg and drag henningsen to the ground. henningsen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Drake stuffs the takedown.
Drake shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and henningsen counters with a nice uppercut.
henningsen has his takedown stuffed
and Drake counters with a nice double leg into guard.
henningsen striking off his back but it's not causing Drake any problems.
Drake wants to pass the guard but henningsen is keeping the position.
Drake decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Drake scores with a takedown into henningsen's guard.
henningsen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Drake is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! henningsen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! henningsen has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
henningsen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and henningsen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

henningsen trying to control the position from guard on top but Drake is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
henningsen is pushing down on Drake's leg trying to pass to half guard. Drake is fighting to maintain full guard but henningsen has managed to sneak the leg through.

Drake tries to kick henningsen off but henningsen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Drake knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for henningsen on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
henningsen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Drake's waist but Drake gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing henningsen off to one side.
Marcus Drake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of rafa henningsen.
Drake tries for a takedown but henningsen circles away easily
and henningsen counters with a shoot takedown. Drake fights it but they end up in guard.
Drake is breathing heavily.

henningsen wants to pass the guard but Drake is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drake is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

henningsen is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Drake flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
henningsen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Drake counters with a single leg into guard. henningsen didn't expect that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
henningsen looking for a triangle here. Drake is fighting it but it looks tight! henningsen pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Drake is tapping out - this one is all over!
