Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sid Kirkland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brock Resnar!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Steve Erwin and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kirkland gets the takedown into side control.
Resnar looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Kirkland is staying tight to Resnar's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Kirkland will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kirkland is looking to take a break and control but Resnar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kirkland knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Resnar on the ground.

Kirkland working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Resnar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Resnar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Resnar drops back looking for a leg! Kirkland is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kirkland manages to kick Resnar off! Resnar jumps back into Kirkland's guard.
Kirkland could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kirkland is on top in guard.

Kirkland seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Resnar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kirkland defends it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Resnar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kirkland as he avoids it easily.

Resnar lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
Kirkland is keen to just control but Resnar is a slippery customer.

Brock Resnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Resnar misses with a takedown attempt - Kirkland sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
It looked like Kirkland was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kirkland closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Resnar's guard.

Resnar is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kirkland rolls with it to try and escape but Resnar cranks on the arm and Kirkland is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Brock Resnar got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
