Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Spishak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Illumi De Medici (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spishak comes to the cage accompanied by Sleeping with Sirens. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sammy Spishak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Illumi De Medici!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spishak keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
De Medici thows a left - swing and a miss!
Spishak changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Spishak fails to land the takedown.
De Medici throws a front kick that sends Spishak stumbling back into the cage.
De Medici misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
As De Medici tries to get set, Spishak tries to push him back and clinch up but De Medici manages to avoid the attempt.
A big right from De Medici misses.
De Medici ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spishak moves away.
Spishak fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but De Medici avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spishak lands a lovely overhand right.
Spishak uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from De Medici.
Spishak feinted with a counter takedown.
Spishak tries to clinch but fails miserably
and De Medici counters with a three punch combo that has Spishak backing up. Spishak nods at De Medici to acknowledge the strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A punch lands to the side of De Medici 's head but he takes it in his stride.
De Medici scores with a nice right hand.


It looks like Sammy Spishak has been cut.
Spishak throws a poor cross that misses
and De Medici counters with a good, hard body kick but Spishak shrugs it off.
De Medici ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from De Medici! But no joy.
Spishak shoots in for a double leg but De Medici sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A nice side step and De Medici releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sammy Spishak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De Medici will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
De Medici moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Spishak is breathing heavily.
De Medici throws out a powerful jab.
A nice leg kick lands there from De Medici.
De Medici misses with an uppercut. Spishak saw that one coming.
Spishak shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with De Medici but De Medici pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The fighters circling - De Medici throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
De Medici changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
De Medici scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
De Medici lands with a nice body kick.
Spishak on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Spishak takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Illumi De Medici is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A good leg kick by De Medici.
Donk. De Medici catches Spishak right on the button with a cross.


Spishak is rocked!
Spishak stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from De Medici.
Oh Spishak is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sammy Spishak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

De Medici cracks Spishak with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Spishak looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can De Medici finish him?
De Medici throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
De Medici swings for the body but Spishak moves out of range.
De Medici lands with a shot to the body.
De Medici just misses with a punch to the body.
De Medici thows a leg kick but Spishak checks it

and Spishak counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Spishak seems to have got his legs back now.
De Medici is trying to control but can't.
Spishak wants to control but De Medici is keeping him busy.

Spishak is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Spishak is looking for a kimura here.
De Medici gets back to full guard.
De Medici seems keen to control Spishak's posture.
Spishak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De Medici swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Spishak is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
De Medici is controlling Spishak's posture.

Spishak drops back looking for a leg! De Medici is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and De Medici manages to kick Spishak off! Spishak jumps back into De Medici's guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Spishak tries to move into range but De Medici moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


Sammy Spishak's cut is getting worse.
De Medici takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Illumi De Medici dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Sammy Spishak's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


De Medici tests Spishak's chin there with a solid looking shot.
De Medici avoids the body shot from Spishak.
De Medici jabs Spishak to the body, keeping him at a distance.
De Medici steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Spishak.
De Medici swings and misses with a hook to the body.
De Medici drops Spishak with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Spishak! De Medici dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Illumi De Medici!
A very excited looking Illumi De Medici made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
