PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bill Schwartz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darell John St Praux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). St Praux has chosen Feelin' Myself as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Schwartz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darell John St Praux!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schwartz tries to clinch but St Praux moves out of range.
St Praux stuffs the takedown attempt from Schwartz. Schwartz gets slowly back to his feet.
St Praux falls off balance throwing a combination

and Schwartz moves into the clinch.
Schwartz jumps guard but St Praux turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Schwartz wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bill Schwartz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
St Praux is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Schwartz is defending well for now.
Schwartz tries to score a body lock takedown but St Praux shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
St Praux throws an elbow that misses.

St Praux is fighting off a takedown attempt but Schwartz is just too persistent for him and manages to trip St Praux to the mat. St Praux regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

St Praux has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Schwartz is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Schwartz is working for takedown but St Praux is calmly controlling the position for now.

St Praux is fighting off a takedown attempt but Schwartz is just too persistent for him and manages to trip St Praux to the mat. St Praux regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

St Praux manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schwartz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Schwartz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

St Praux drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and St Praux jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

St Praux throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Schwartz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
St Praux stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schwartz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
St Praux is looking to work some ground and pound but Schwartz has wrist control.

Schwartz looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Schwartz controls St Praux momentarily but St Praux frees himself.
St Praux postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
St Praux tries to free his leg and advance position but Schwartz is retaining full guard.

Schwartz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. St Praux gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

St Praux must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

St Praux has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Schwartz to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! St Praux is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Schwartz pulls down on the head and he's put St Praux to sleep! This one is all over!

Our winner, Bill Schwartz, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
