enabling Holyfield to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Jos Cruz has been cut.

and Holyfield counters with a big right hook, that lands right on the temple! Cruz goes down! Holyfield rushes to a neutral corner to get the count going quickly. This one's going to be close! 3,4,5,6,7... Cruz is up to one knee.... 8,9.... He's up! The referee says he's good to go, so we're back to the action!
Cruz is rocked!
Holyfield connects with a nice cross there... Cruz is looking wobbly and Holyfield recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Cruz to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Holyfield jumps onto the ropes to celebrate with the crowd!

In his post fight interview, Joe Holyfield started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
