PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Canyonero The Truck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Truck comes to the cage accompanied by Canyonero. John Wong told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wong tries to clinch but The Truck is having none of it.
The Truck circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wong moves in looking to clinch but The Truck pushes him off.

Wong shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wong was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The Truck closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The Truck looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wong with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. The Truck connects with a nice short shot to Wong's temple.

BOOM! The Truck connects with a massive shot to the dome!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee warns Wong that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The Truck has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wong enables The Truck to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wong manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The Truck is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The Truck seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wong for as long as he can get away with.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Canyonero The Truck decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
