Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hickson Hooah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk fails with the takedown.
Hawk is looking to clinch.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hooah.

Hooah gets a clinch.

Hooah pulls guard successfully.
Hooah keeping moving, preventing Hawk from controlling successfully.
Hooah looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hawk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hooah. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hooah escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hawk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hooah trying to keep a closed guard but Hawk is proving a slippery customer.
Hooah bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hawk's guard.
Hawk can't keep his opponent in guard - Hooah advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Hawk is looking for a sweep. Hooah is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hooah working over Hawk with some ground and pound. Hawk looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Hooah looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hawk with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Hawk is staying active underneath Hooah, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hooah seems to be looking for submissions.
Hawk is looking for a sweep. Hooah is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hooah thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hawk's head.
Hooah is pressing down on Hawk's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hawk is holding on for now.
Hawk is trying to control but can't.
Hooah works his foot free and advances to mount.
Hawk is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hooah tries to control but Hawk wriggling away.
Hawk wants to control but Hooah is having none of it.
Hawk is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Hawk bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Hooah had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hawk is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hooah Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hawk's back instead.

Hawk is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hooah gets his way!

Hawk wants to clinch but Hooah slips to the side

and Hooah counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hawk!

BOOM! Hooah connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hawk has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Hooah is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hawk knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hawk for a finish.

Hooah has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hooah has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hawk has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Hooah looking to break Hawk's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Hawk remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Hooah will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Hawk bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hooah regains half guard.
Hooah wants to control but Hawk is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hawk seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hooah does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hawk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hooah swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hooah looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Hawk is defending well. Hooah quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Hawk has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hooah celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
