Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hodir Ragnarsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Beric Usko!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Usko looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ragnarsson!

Usko decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ragnarsson, up you get!

Ragnarsson shoots in for a double leg but Usko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Ragnarsson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Usko enables Ragnarsson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Usko manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Ragnarsson is looking to work some ground and pound but Usko has wrist control.

Usko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ragnarsson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ragnarsson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ragnarsson wants to control from the top but Usko keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hodir Ragnarsson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Usko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ragnarsson was covering up waiting for the punch and Usko finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ragnarsson pulls Usko in to control the position.
Ragnarsson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Usko's guard.

Usko wants to get back to his feet but Ragnarsson drags him back down.

Ragnarsson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ragnarsson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Usko tries to buck Ragnarsson off but Ragnarsson is having none of it.
Usko is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Ragnarsson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Usko to his feet.

Usko slaps away a takedown attempt from Ragnarsson, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Usko rushes Ragnarsson and presses him up against the cage.
Ragnarsson effectively controlling the action here.

Ragnarsson wants the takedown. Usko is fighting it off but Ragnarsson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Usko's guard against the cage.

Ragnarsson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Beric Usko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ragnarsson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Usko wants to get back to his feet but Ragnarsson drags him back down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Ragnarsson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Usko is not content to let Ragnarsson control the position.
Ragnarsson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Usko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ragnarsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ragnarsson is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Ragnarsson!
