Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Milford Garrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Gorbatsov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Milford Garrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Gorbatsov!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Gorbatsov misses.
Garrison blocks a head kick by Gorbatsov.
Gorbatsov works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.


It looks like Milford Garrison has been cut.

Gorbatsov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Garrison is pressing down on Gorbatsov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Gorbatsov wanted to stand there but Garrison had control of the position.
Garrison wants to sweep here but Gorbatsov controlling him for the moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garrison throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Gorbatsov won't allow Garrison to sweep him here.
Garrison is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gorbatsov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Garrison's guard.
Garrison wants to control but Gorbatsov is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Garrison is trying to stand back up but Gorbatsov is controlling him
Gorbatsov throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Garrison tries to get to full guard but Gorbatsov has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gorbatsov wants to pass the guard but Garrison is defending well.
Gorbatsov prevents Garrison from standing back up.
Garrison gets back to full guard.

Gorbatsov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garrison has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gorbatsov has managed to get both his arms back between Garrison's legs - danger averted.
Gorbatsov throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Garrison really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Garrison looking for a sweep. Not yet Garrison, not yet.
Garrison is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gorbatsov scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Garrison manages to mount him!
Garrison will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gorbatsov is trying desperately to improve position.
Garrison misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Garrison cracks Gorbatsov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Gorbatsov is looking to improve his position but Garrison isn't that keen on the idea.

Garrison tries to control but Gorbatsov wriggling away.
Garrison lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gorbatsov hang on?

Gorbatsov gets back to half guard.
Garrison not landing any meaningful shots this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Garrison decides to stand and escape the position.
Gorbatsov tried to score with a low kick but Garrison checks it.
A punch combination from Gorbatsov misses.
Gorbatsov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Garrison swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gorbatsov tries to clinch there but Garrison circles away.
Garrison is looking for a counter combo.
Gorbatsov bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Garrison's head.
Gorbatsov looks winded!

Gorbatsov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Garrison working for a triangle but Gorbatsov defends it easily.

Garrison is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gorbatsov presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Milford Garrison will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gorbatsov looks to clinch

and Garrison counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Garrison has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gorbatsov is trying to keep Garrison in close.
Garrison stops Gorbatsov from standing up.

Garrison decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gorbatsov, up you get!
Gorbatsov connects with a looping right hand.
Garrison closes the distance but Gorbatsov moves to the side
and Gorbatsov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


Garrison is rocked!
Igor Gorbatsov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gorbatsov dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Garrison has had enough and taps out.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Igor Gorbatsov!
Igor Gorbatsov tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
