Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Georges StPierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
StPierre changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davis tries to avoid it but StPierre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davis to the ground. Davis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Davis looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

StPierre fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Davis sprawls well initially but StPierre persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
StPierre sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Davis defending well though.
Davis is not content to let StPierre control the position.
StPierre trying to mount his opponent but Davis defends it.
StPierre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

StPierre is nestled in close to Davis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
StPierre is keen to just control but Davis is a slippery customer.

StPierre tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Davis just stands there and leans against the cage.
StPierre is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Davis is keeping busy.

Davis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control StPierre kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

StPierre stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Davis scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Davis throws a right and a left that both miss.

StPierre closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - StPierre lands in his opponent's guard.

Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with StPierre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
StPierre slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Davis wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
StPierre prevents Davis from getting back to his feet.
Davis is trying to control the position but StPierre postures up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Davis wants to control but StPierre is having none of it.

Davis tries to lock up and control but StPierre gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

StPierre tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Davis is looking to improve his position but StPierre isn't that keen on the idea.

StPierre has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Davis's face.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
StPierre closes this distance looking for a takedown but Davis circles away.
Davis tries to clinch but StPierre moves out of range.
Georges StPierre is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
StPierre shoots for a takedown but Davis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

StPierre throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davis's waist but Davis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing StPierre off to one side.

Davis fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Horrible takedown by Davis or perhaps it was just good defense by StPierre which made him look bad.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Davis throws a low kick but it's checked well by StPierre.

StPierre tries to clinch up but Davis circles away and keeps his distance.

StPierre bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Davis is pushing StPierre's head away, looking to escape. StPierre manages to hold on to the position though.
