The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Work closes the distance and clinches.
Work just leaning against Nixon, taking a breather.
Work turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Work manages to end up in side control.
Work controls the position from side control.
Nixon tries to bench press Work off him but Work keeps the position.
Work decides to stand back up.
Aaron Work seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Work shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Work is working Nixon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Work wants to control from the top but Nixon keeps moving.
Work wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Nixon's closed guard. He's half up but Nixon has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Nixon pivots and extends the arm, Work falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Nixon! Well done that man!
