Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thanh Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koran Mckan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thanh Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Koran Mckan!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt loads up on a big right hand but Mckan slips the punch.
Hunt sets himself, and Mckan steps forward looking for the clinch! Hunt avoids it this time.

Mckan closes the distance and pushes Hunt back into the cage.

Mckan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mckan throws a head kick that misses.
Hunt throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Mckan misses with a head kick.
Mckan misses with a series of wild punches.
Hunt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mckan as he jumps to the side.
Koran Mckan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mckan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hunt tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mckan is in Hunt's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mckan wants to stand but Hunt is controlling his posture from full guard.
Mckan trying to control but Hunt is working from the bottom.
Mckan pushing down on Hunt's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Hunt holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Mckan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hunt is just riding it out for now. Mckan eventually gives up the hold.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mckan not doing much here.
Hunt is trying is best to control the position here.
Mckan missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Mckan is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Mckan is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Mckan looking to control but Hunt is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Mckan misses with a head shot.
Hunt tries to hold on but Mckan postures up.
Mckan throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Hunt squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Mckan fails to take his opponent's back.

Hunt tries to control Mckan's body but Mckan pushes him off. Hunt squirms to his side and now Mckan has his back!
Mckan is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Mckan gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Mckan gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Mckan apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Mckan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hunt is trying to defend but Mckan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mckan in particular looking to stall.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Koran Mckan dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Mckan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hunt quickly recovers to half guard.
Hunt avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mckan.
Hunt regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Mckan.
Hunt has Mckan pulled in close to control his posture.
Hunt is trying to keep Mckan in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mckan wants to get up but he can't break Hunt's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hunt tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Mckan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Mckan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hunt's half guard.
Koran Mckan has got the better of the ground game so far.

Mckan has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Hunt works to full guard.
Mckan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Mckan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Mckan decides to stand back up. Mckan steps back and let's Hunt get back to his feet.
Mckan misses with a wild combination.

Mckan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hunt throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Hunt wants to stand and escape but Mckan is having none of it.
Mckan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Mckan content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hunt wants to control but Mckan passes easily into half guard.
Hunt trying to hold on to Mckan's head to control him but Mckan postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hunt looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Koran Mckan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Mckan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mckan lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mckan prevents Hunt from getting back to his feet.

Mckan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Mckan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mckan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hunt wants to get back to his feet.
Mckan in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Hunt stops Mckan from passing to mount.

Hunt is not content to let Mckan control the position.
Hunt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mckan on the ground.
Mckan sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hunt is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hunt misses with a wild body shot.
Mckan fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Hunt is out of range.
Hunt attempts a counter takedown but Mckan avoids it well and moves away.
No luck for Hunt with that takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mckan avoids the head kick by Hunt.

Hunt gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mckan to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Mckan has gone for a leg lock! Hunt slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mckan's guard.


Mckan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hunt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hunt manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mckan wants to stand up but Hunt is controlling him.
Thanh Hunt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Koran Mckan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mckan is pulling down on Hunt's head. It's preventing any offense from Hunt, at least for the moment.

Koran Mckan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mckan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
