Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Cooley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cooley seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Johnson throws a body punch but Cooley moves out of range.

Johnson has managed to clinch.

Johnson decides to pull guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Johnson has eaten all the pies!

Johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cooley defends well.
Cooley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cooley controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson wants to stand and escape but Cooley is having none of it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Johnson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Cooley has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cooley swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Johnson is pushing down on Cooley's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cooley is fighting to maintain full guard but Johnson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Johnson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Cooley wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cooley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

It looks like Noel Cooley has been cut.

Johnson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cooley tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Johnson is in Cooley's guard.

Johnson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cooley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Johnson has managed to get both his arms back between Cooley's legs - danger averted.

Johnson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cooley, up you get!

Johnson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Cooley is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Johnson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Johnson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cooley has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cooley enables Johnson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cooley manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
