Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Thump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felippe Francisco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Big Thump!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Felippe Francisco!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Francisco takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Thump throws a body punch but Francisco moves out of range.

Thump gets caught napping as Francisco dives in and scores a takedown. Thump manages to retain guard.
Francisco won't allow Thump to sweep him here.
Thump bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Francisco's guard.

Francisco pulls Thump in close to prevent any damage.
Thump has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Francisco is proving hard to escape from.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Francisco shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Thump's guard.
Francisco is fighting to break Thump's control of his arms but Thump is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Thump will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Francisco postures up.
Thump wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thump is looking to control Francisco's arms but Francisco gets an underhook and turns him. Now Thump has his back to the cage.
Francisco wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Thump has him pressed against the cage.
Thump pushes off an throws an elbow but Francisco leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Thump keeps control of Francisco as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Thump tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Francisco's elbow.
Francisco wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

A nice side step and Francisco releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Francisco closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Thump did well to prevent Francisco getting side control.

Francisco wants to control from the top but Thump keeps moving.
Francisco looking to sit in guard and control but Thump gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Felippe Francisco has got the better of the ground game so far.

Thump has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Thump looking to pass the guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Big Thump will probably get the nod.

As Francisco backs away, Thump returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Thump moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Francisco goes down! Can Thump finish him!?

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Thump takes a little break here. Francisco wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Francisco seems to have recovered his senses.

Thump decides to stand back up. Thump steps back and let's Francisco get back to his feet.

Francisco connects with a leg kick. Thump looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Thump goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Big Thump is winning the standup battle so far.
Thump throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A jab-cross combination lands for Thump and sends Francisco crashing to the mat! Thump follows him down to the mat - Francisco regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Thump is pressing down on Francisco's thigh, looking to free his foot. Francisco is holding on for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Thump tries to land a front kick but Francisco steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
That kick from Thump tenderised Francisco's leg. Francisco is trying to keep his angry face on.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Francisco crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Thump - the referee stops the clock and Francisco gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Thump. Francisco manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Well Thump has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Big Thump retains his heavyweight title!
After the fight, Big Thump was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
