Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brett Harrison Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Basil McCrystal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCrystal with a lazy takedown attempt
and Wells counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
McCrystal will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wells is looking to counter punch.
McCrystal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wells tries to avoid it but McCrystal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wells to the ground. Wells escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
McCrystal looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
McCrystal jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Wells throws a nice outside leg kick.

McCrystal closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
McCrystal is trying to maintain a safe position but Wells gets an underhook and turns McCrystal into the cage.

McCrystal sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, McCrystal creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McCrystal lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Wells has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Wells and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Wells will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brett Harrison Wells will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wells, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
