Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andres Hammond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remmington Sulen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Remmington Sulen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andres Hammond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Remmington Sulen!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sulen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hammond on his heels. He'll look to pass Hammond's guard now, I'm sure.
Hammond is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sulen controlling the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sulen is defending against the submission attempts here by Hammond.
Sulen tries to get to full guard but Hammond has control of the leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sulen trying to get back to full guard but Hammond takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Sulen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sulen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hammond landing strikes from the mount.
Sulen sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Sulen avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hammond.
Sulen wants to control but Hammond is keeping busy.
Sulen wants to get back to full guard but Hammond has passed into side control.
Sulen tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Hammond easily slips into full mount!

Hammond is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sulen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Sulen tries to reverse the position but Hammond maintains control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hammond wants to finish this one by submission but Sulen is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hammond.
Sulen is looking to get to half guard.
Hammond with a couple of short strikes.
Sulen is desperately trying to improve his position but Hammond has a good base and remains in mount.

A nice elbow there by Hammond.
Sulen is trying desperately to improve position.
Sulen wants to control but Hammond is having none of it.
Hammond could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sulen working to try and regain half guard.
Hammond looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sulen wants to hold on but Hammond pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Sulen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hammond!
Hammond takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Hammond wants to control but Sulen postures up.
Sulen is looking to take a break and control but Hammond is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hammond tries to buck Sulen off but Sulen is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sulen goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hammond rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sulen's guard! Nice work there by Hammond!

Hammond gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sulen tries to clinch up but Hammond circles away and keeps his distance.
Sulen tries to clinch but Hammond is having none of it.

Sulen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Hammond's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Sulen decides to stand back up. Sulen steps back and let's Hammond get back to his feet.

Sulen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Sulen is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hammond is trying to stand.
Sulen wants to stand up but Hammond is controlling the position.
Sulen trying to advance position but Hammond counters by regaining guard.
Sulen wants to control from the top but Hammond keeps moving.
Hammond is trying to keep Sulen in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hammond keeping moving, preventing Sulen from controlling successfully.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hammond holds on and takes a little breather.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hammond looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sulen is fending him off so far but Hammond persists. Nope, Sulen circles away and we're back to standing.
Sulen drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hammond defends it well.
Hammond scores with a leg kick.
Sulen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hammond manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Sulen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hammond napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Sulen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hammond keeps working.
Sulen avoids the strikes from the bottom by Hammond.
Sulen lands a few punches from side control.
Sulen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hammond. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sulen with the ground and pound but Hammond regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Sulen is keen to just control but Hammond is a slippery customer.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sulen not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Remmington Sulen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Sulen blocks a head kick by Hammond.

Hammond gets caught flat footed, as Sulen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hammond is on top in guard.


Hammond stands up from Sulen's guard - Hammond perhaps looking for a knockout.
Andres Hammond is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hammond instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sulen has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hammond clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Sulen has got his arm under Hammond's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Hammond has spun round into Sulen's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
Sulen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hammond decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sulen, up you get!
Sulen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hammond thinks about countering with a head kick.
Sulen stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hammond.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hammond has taken the fight to the clinch.

Sulen manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hammond might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sulen looking to control but Hammond passes into half guard.
Sulen avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hammond.
Hammond winds up and cracks Sulen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hammond throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hammond takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Sulen wants to get back to full guard but Hammond has passed into side control.
Sulen takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Hammond working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Sulen tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Hammond presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Sulen is wriggling around trying to escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hammond lands a big elbow.
Hammond lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Sulen is looking to improve his position but Hammond isn't that keen on the idea.

Hammond wants to finish this one by submission but Sulen is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hammond.

Hammond looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Hammond looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Hammond has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
