Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Noel Cooley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Work (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aaron Work looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Noel Cooley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Work!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cooley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Work to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Work wants to stand but Cooley is controlling his posture from full guard.
Cooley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Work misses with some strikes from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Work trying to control here.
Cooley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Work tries to get to full guard but Cooley has control of the leg.

Cooley is looking to take a break and control but Work is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Work works his way to full guard. Good work.
Cooley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Work on the ground.
Work is trying to control the position but Cooley postures up.
Cooley prevents Work from getting back to his feet.

Work is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cooley is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Work shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cooley's guard.
Work wanted to stand there but Cooley had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Work trying to control the position from guard on top but Cooley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Work trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Cooley manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Work bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cooley's guard.

Work seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Cooley is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Work dives into side control.
A lull in the action here as Work stalls from top position.
Cooley tries to improve position but can't.

We've been informed that Work has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Work swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Work misses with a low kick as Cooley jumps back.

Work would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Work moves into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Work showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Work throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cooley tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Work is in Cooley's guard.

Work wants to control from the top but Cooley keeps moving.

Work takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Work has his foot on Cooley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cooley works his way back into a safe position though.

Work wants to get back to his feet but Cooley is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cooley wants to control from the top but Work keeps moving.
Work not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Work might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cooley haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Aaron Work seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Work closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cooley's guard.

Work is looking to work some ground and pound but Cooley has wrist control.
Work controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Work pushes down on Cooley's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Cooley keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Cooley is trying to stand back up but Work is controlling him
Cooley gets full guard.
Cooley wants to sweep here but Work controlling him for the moment.
Cooley utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Work thuds his right hand into Cooley's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

And that's the end of the fight!
Aaron Work comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Work has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
