Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahmed closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Russo's guard.
Ahmed wants to get up but he can't break Russo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Russo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Russo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ahmed postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ahmed accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ahmed is fighting to break Russo's control of his arms but Russo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Russo seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Musa Ahmed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round but I would say that Rory Russo will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ahmed avoids the head kick by Russo.
Ahmed tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
It looks like Rory Russo has been cut.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
